Review: Twilight DVD

The Twilight book series captured the hearts of thousands of teenage girls across the world, and now the Twilight movie is doing the same.

Focusing on a classic tale of love between two young heartthrobs, Twilight adds an extra twist: the leading man, Edward Cullen, is a vampire.

In fact, the entire Cullen family are vampires and they have been living in the sleepy town of Forks, Washington, for a long time until a recent series of disturbances came along.

Bella has just relocated to Forks, and at the same time as she is falling in love with Edward a threat emerges. A gang of rogue vampires is hell bent on taking Bella’s blood, seemingly at any price…

This film is not for everyone, but it certainly appeals to the inner teenager. The quality of acting is certainly nothing to be sneered at, and the two lead characters in particular do a stellar job.

Special effects are also pretty good throughout the film, and the penultimate scene (in which a massive vampire fight occurs) is very exciting.

The Twilight DVD release is expected later this year, and you can guarantee that at least two more movies in the Twilight series will be hitting the silver screen sometime soon.
