If you are interested in Christian relationship advice, check out Fireproof, a self-help guide disguised as a movie.
Following the story of Captain Caleb Holt, a fireman who is renowned at work for his extreme bravery when battling against powerful flames, Fireproof suggests faith can get your relationship back on track.
Things are not going well for Caleb and his wife, Christine, and it becomes quite obvious that Caleb doesn’t have the same courage to deal with his emotional problems as he does to deal with fire.
His marriage is failing and as he and Catherine seem to be fighting about pretty much everything, they are getting very close to signing divorce papers.
But as a last resort Caleb’s dad gets him to read “Love Dare”, a forty-day guide to use religion to reinvigorate your marriage.
It’s hard at the start for Caleb but as he rekindles his love for Jesus, he rediscovers his feelings for Catherine as well.
There is no shortage of extremely obvious fire/relationship metaphors, and there are a couple of interesting action scenes too.The Fireproof DVD is set to be released in the next few months.
